If I need an emergency medical evacuation, will I be evacuated back to my home country for treatment?
The destination of your emergency medical evacuation depends on a number of factors, including the nature of the condition, the recovery period, etc. UnitedHealthcare Global physicians consult with your local treating physician to determine an appropriate plan of action. Most likely, you will be evacuated to the closest, most appropriate facility for treating your condition to ensure the quickest delivery of care. That may or may not be your home country. After your condition has stabilized, you may be repatriated home for further treatment or you may be healthy enough to continue with your time abroad.
